check ‘Two-step verification’ is turned ON so if you give away your password to a scam they can not access your account from a computer that is not Trusted. If turned OFF it is essential to add Security Info so you can be verified and given access to change your password. Go to – Microsoft account ❯ Security. See ‘Security basics’ and click on ‘Advanced security options’ to add Security info (your mobile number and a second email address). N.B. Add a trusted person’s email and mobile number to verify you when you don’t have access to your phone and/or main computer
