Clean: Power off the device, remove from case then wipe clean (replace case if needed)

Run Device Care (Samsung Galaxay Store app): for top of the range Samsung devices turn on ‘Auto optimisation’

Clean unwanted files with Google Files app: Open ‘Files’ and tap ‘Clean’. To clear space on the device tap on ‘Delete backed-up media’

Clear Junk files with Norton Clean app: Open the app then scan and delete junk files, manage apps and view Report Card

Remove unwanted apps – speed up the device: Open App screen, touch and hold on app and tap on ‘Uninstall’

Restart android phone: Allow Android to properly fix a fault for you by restarting it. Search for instructions on which buttons to press to obtain Restart e.g. Samsung S21 is hold down power button and Volume down button simultaneously

Fix an app by reinstalling: From Home Screen, touch and hold the app then tap ‘Uninstall’. Download the app from the Play Store and reinstall

Search Google for solutions to android problem: type most important word first. Consider replacing phone or tablet if over 3 years old. For security reasons replace if the android version is no longer supported – typically when over 4 years old.

Hardware repair: Settings ❯ Battery and Device care ❯ Maintenance mode, click ‘Turn on’. Changes made while turned on such as downloaded data, installed apps or settings changes aren’t saved to the device
