Set up OneDrive in Microsoft user account

Link the PC to OneDrive: Sign in to OneDrive with the Microsoft account – this may happen during operating system installation. (Where files and folders were backed up to OneDrive’s remote server storage on the previous PC it is important to sync those files to the replacement PC)

Work through OneDrive options and Settings: Click on the OneDrive cloud icon in Notification area bottom right

Store OneDrive files on local hard disk: Turn Files on Demand to OFF to keep files on the hard disk. Open OneDrive Settings ❯ Sync and backup ❯ Advanced Settings ❯ Files On-Demand. Check the size to confirm there is space on the hard disk, then agree. The status column should be visible in File Explorer to show different icons if Files On-Demand is ON.
